The Who, The Why, The How, The What
HELLO! So glad you're visiting our beautiful storefront. I am beyond enthused and excited to share with you how ArtGivesLife was conceived and birthed. Welcome to my journey and to a commUNITY of people WHO GIVE A DAMN AND A DOLLAR!
Who?
My life has been shaped by gains (beautiful long marriage and two lovely bonus daughters) and losses (death of my husband, mother, father, brother and too many others). One significant loss that has shaped me was not getting to carry and give birth to a child. I mention this because getting through that grief transformed my life very deeply.
I have been a small business owner for most of my life (as well as some years as a full-time employee). Independence, faith, grit and persistence were foundational for the creativity that each of my businesses required. Today, I am concentrating those creative juices into a smoothie that designs artful products and creates some original artwork.
ArtGivesLife began with me sitting in a favorite living room chair, watching TV and creating black and white floral drawings. Very soon into this creative outlet, I got the idea to sell products to raise money.
With way too many women and children in extended family and my personal life that have suffered trauma from domestic violence and abuse, I knew where to concentrate my passions. ArtGivesLife is my baby -- I have conceived and carried in my creative womb the essence of life that was then birthed with over a year of solo laboring and then working with an amazing team of "business midwives".
Why?
Because it is NOT OKAY EVER for a woman, man or child to suffer trauma from intimate partners, parents or strangers. No one says "yes" to disrespect, mental/emotional/financial/physical abuse. No one wants their dignity and personhood robbed from them.
How?
The way this is happening is very God-driven. Each member of our team was brought to me. I didn't need to seek them out. Each of them has a heart for victims that moved them to donate their professional skills and experience. We have worked very collaboratively -- motivated and galvanized to a shared mission to spread hope and offer compassionate love through this unique business.
What?
We offer are inspirational products that are designed with graphic art elements (at our beginning) that will grow to offer original art and art prints. We plan to develop a community of artists with a heart to donate a portion of their sales to this vital cause.
Journey with us as we grow our product line. Soon, there will be fun, delightful and heartfelt gifts for babies, kids, men and women. You will find fun, inspiring, colorful, unique quality items for yourself, family and friends.
Warmly,
Cheryl
